Sports Innovation Week moved to November 24-26, 2021
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia – THURSDAY 5th August 2021
As a result of the ongoing uncertainty regarding border closures and related lockdown restrictions, the Sports Innovation Week will now be held November 24-26 with the flagship Sports Tech Conference on Friday November 26.
This decision was made in consultation with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and our event partners, who like us are committed to staging a world class ‘in-person’ event, that will maximise attendances from around the country and benefit the Sports Technology and Innovation Community.
Interest and enthusiasm for Sports Innovation Week has been incredibly strong with over 500 registrations to date notwithstanding the current uncertainty regarding travel emanating from the Covid restrictions. This excitement has been fuelled further by the recent announcement that Queensland will host the 2032 Olympic Games. It is going to be an extraordinary period in this country and particularly for those involved in the Sport, Innovation and Technology sectors.
Johann Odou, Director, Sports Tech World Series, said, “The difficult decision to reschedule the event was reflective of circumstances we currently face. First and foremost, public safety is paramount. And we are driven to deliver an event in which all those involved in the Sports, Innovation and Technology industry have the opportunity to attend in person”.
“Whilst we are disappointed that we won’t be seeing everyone next month, we look forward to delivering a world class event in November”, Odou said.
