Director of Business Intelligence @ Dallas Stars
Patrick is Director of Business Intelligence for the Dallas Stars, a professional Hockey team a part of the NHL, and is located in Frisco, Texas. Patrick is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University, where he received a BS in Information Systems.
During his undergraduate college career, Patrick spent time as a Business Intelligence Intern at the Dillard’s HQ located in Little Rock, Arkansas. At this time, he helped establish the analytics group within the BI department and worked on various analytics projects requested by the Dillard’s family. This eventually led to a full time position as a COBOL developer directly after graduating. Patrick eventually moved back to his home state of Texas and transitioned from COBOL development to ETL development within the Microsoft tech stack at Cvent (formerly Lanyon) located in downtown Dallas. During Patrick’s time at Lanyon / Cvent, he helped establish a new set of standards and best practices with SQL development across the company and the same with ETL development within the BI department resulting in increased code performance, improved data consistencies, and changes to 1000s of ETL packages.
Eventually, Patrick would move on to BI consulting at Nuedesic, in Irving, for a short period of time before landing in Frisco with the Dallas Stars. Here, Patrick helped establish the new BI department, implementing of a new data warehouse and BI tech stack within the company, and assisting in revolutionizing how the company views & reports on data over the course of the first 12 months with the company.
