Senior Partner and Chairman London Region @ KPMG
Kevin Smith is a senior KPMG Partner and Chairman of the firm’s London Region.
With over 25 years’ experience in leading high performing teams in the UK and overseas, Kevin currently has responsibility for KPMG’s Mid-Market and Private Capital business in London and the South East. He is the lead partner for a team of around 100 partners and 1300 staff across five KPMG offices who work with privately owned, entrepreneurial and fast growth businesses, alongside large mid-sized and multinational organisations delivering tax, audit and advisory services.
He has excellent international networks, and is currently supporting a number of programmes helping to create trade corridors across Europe, the US and elsewhere. Supporting fast growth businesses looking to expand their international footprint is a passion for Kevin. He heads up KPMG’s involvement with the Enterprise Nation Go Global programme (the largest small business organisation in the UK), the Major of London’s International Business programme which helps scaling business go international and a number of others.
Kevin’s background is in tax where he led a number of high profile legal cases from Tribunals to Judicial Reviews, including one UK Judicial Review tax case that created legal precedent in the High Court. He has held a number of roles in the UK and overseas working across multiple territories and sectors including the development of EU Accession services for businesses in central and eastern Europe whilst based there in the early 2000s.
As chair for the firm’s London region Kevin also leads relationships with a number of London agencies and organisations such as London First, London and Partners and the London Chamber of Commerce on key policy areas, including London’s role on the world stage post Brexit.
